Bang Trims/Undercut Maintenance

To help your cut stay fresh fresh for longer, existing clients are welcome to 2 bang/undercut trims in between full haircuts.

Deposits

A credit card on file is required for all new clients. Until I figure out a better system, we will need to schedule a quick phone call to get that information in order to confirm a booking.

Refunds

I do not offer refunds, but I do stand by my work 100%! If you are not satisfied with your service, I’m happy to make adjustments within 1 week to get you to the end goal we discussed during your consultation. As is the nature of hair to grow and color to fade, “redos” after 1 week become regular maintenance.

Communication

As much as I love what I do, I also cherish my time off, and my sweet, sweet sleep. If you reach out via phone (call or text) please respect “office hours” of 9am-9pm. If you don’t hear back right away, it’s very likely that I am just busy enjoying time off with my family, and not working. I typically respond to emails once a week, instagram dm’s once or twice a week, and phone calls or texts when I’m in the salon. That being said, I am answering requests on 4 different platforms, so please try to resist reaching out via multiple avenues. If you haven’t heard from me within a week, feel free to give me a little nudge! I try to stay on top of things, but sometimes they slip between the cracks.

Color

Before Your Appointment

Shampooing is not necessary, and if you’re appointment involves on scalp lightening, a little extra oil will just offer a layer of protection, so feel free to be skip wash day and let me do the work!

Have inspo photos? Great! They don’t have to be of hair, in fact, I kinda love it when they aren’t. Moths, book covers, yarn skeins, produce, and italian ice are all amazing color inspo I’ve worked with.

If you are thinking of drastically changing your color and we haven’t discussed that, please reach out to make sure we have the appropriate time scheduled!

During Your Appointment

I’m working with bleach, dyes and water, which is messy business! I do my best to protect your clothing, but accidents happen! I suggest wearing clothing that isn’t near and dear to your heart, especially on top.

Most color appointments last between 2-5 hours. With current masking guidelines and covid protocols, unfortunately I don’t have much to offer you in the way of beverages or entertainment. Bring anything you may need, and just be aware that snacks or sips need to me taken outside of the salon for now.

After Your Appointment

Yay! Your hair looks great! We will go over aftercare for your specific color in salon, as well, but here’s the basics:

Don’t wash/wet your hair for at least 48 hours! For vivids, this is especially important, and includes swimming. Chlorinated water, in particular, will strip your new color right out. When you do shampoo, cool waters best, especially for colors prone to fading. Colored hair needs extra love, and it’s a good idea to budget a bit for the right products to care for your hair in between appointments.

Color bleeding is part of the life cycle of vivids, and the more intense the tone, the more you will see this. When you shampoo, when you swim, even when you work out; I sweat yellow these days ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . No shirt collar, towel, or pillow case is safe. Avoid lightly colored linens and collared clothing that you are protective of. Light staining will often come out in the wash, but better save than sorry with treasured items. And that leads me to…

Fading! This is a fact of hair color. Vivids will getting lighter, and the tone may shift a bit as that happens. Blondes, especially ashy blondes, will warm up over time. Reds and deep brunettes may lighten and feel a bit “brassy”. I am always happy to come up with a game plan on how to maintain your color in a way that fits in with your lifestyle and realistic scheduling time frames.
